Willis Leroy Heckman, 80, Lucernemines died Sunday, March 11, 2018 at his residence. He was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Moody) Heckman and was born September 7, 1937 in West Mifflin. Willis was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA Local #1287 and an Air Force Veteran having served in the Korean War. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and walking through the woods and also enjoyed working on cars. Mr. Heckman is survived by four daughters, Cheryl and husband Tom Kertes, Lucernemines; Joyce and husband Thomas Long, Starford; Diane and husband Allen Gray, Lucernemines and Alberta Marsh, Blacklick and one son, Charles and wife Jennifer Heckman, Ephrata. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. His sister, Ruth and husband David Case, Alberta, NY and brother, Charles and wife Thelma Heckman, Florida also survive him. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Alberta in 2009 and his daughter Lynn Hicks. Per Mr. Heckman's wishes there will be no services, interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
