Cook, William B., Jr., Nanty Glo, passed away July 19, 2017 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Feb 7, 1925, in Nanty Glo. Son of the late William and Priscilla (Walls) Cook, Sr. He is preceded in death by Wife Helen Gressley, grandson John Silko, Jr. Brother Kemp, sister Patricia Winning. Surviving are his children Linda (John) Silko; Carol (Gary Spike ) Newcomer; Diana Olsavsky (Ron Knipple); Billie (Ken) Arford; Dennis (Laurel) Cook. Grandchildren Katherine, Michele, Mandy, Chris, Caren, Meredith, Danelle, Breanne, Shawn, Robert, Jessica, Shane. Great grandchildren Pete, Heather, Michael, Olivia, Alana, Kristen, Daniel, Hayley, Ethan, Ian, Tanner, Bryce, Cory, and Isabella. Great great grandchild Owen. Brother of Barbara (Robert) Brown. Brother -in-law Fred (Betty) Gressley. William was a WWII Army Veteran. Retired coal miner from Bethlem Mine 31. Life member of the Nanty Glo Moose Lodge # 207. Member of the UMWA Local # 1386, VFW Post #7605, American Legion Post #619, and Polish Club all of Nanty Glo. William enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. Family and friends will be received Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where funeral services will be held Monday, at 11:00 A.M. Interment to follow in Belsano United Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Blacklick Valley Ambulance Assoc.
