Verna G.(Stern) Korywchak, 96, died January 18, 2018 at Maple Valley Personal Care Home, Indiana, PA. She was born August 19, 1921 to Frank and Irene (Good) Stern. Verna lived in Coral, PA for most of her life where she was a member of the Luther Chapel. Verna worked many different jobs throughout her life and retired from Season All. She was an excellent cook and was known for her pies and nut rolls. Verna was happiest when she was cooking or baking for family and friends. Verna married Joseph Korywchak and is survived by their three children, Joseph Terry Korywchak, New Alexandria; Linda D. (Kenneth) Ault, Shelocta and Richard A. (Patricia ) Korywchak, Indiana; six grandchildren, Michael Korywchak, Chad (Lacey) Korywchak, Amy (Michael) Foster, Lori Ault (Sam Mott), Kasey (Robert) Baker, and Kelly (Joshua) Murphy and seven great grandchildren, Reagan and Sloane Baker, Alexandra Murphy, Lucas and Logan Foster and Chloe and Charley Korywchak. Verna is also survived by her sister, Donna (Hunter) Franzi of Saltsburg and special nephew Jim Hunter, Washington, DC; brother-in-laws, John Moxie Korywchak and Frank Buddy Korywchak, sister-in-laws, Ann Gaydosh, Judy Beisner and Kay Combs, and numerous nieces and nephews. According to Vernas wishes, there will be no viewing and funeral services will be private. The C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City is in charge of arrangements. Our family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Maple Valley Personal Care Home. Verna loved all of the staff and thought of them as her extended family.
