Vada Arlene (Elliott) Gamber The Tribune-Democrat CENTRE HALL - GAMBER - Vada Arlene (Elliott), 99, died Dec. 18, 2011, at Wynwood House, Centre Hall. Born Aug. 16, 1912, daughter of the late Arthur F. and Flora (Dishong) Elliott. On June 1, 1931, she married Raymond Grant Gamber, who preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1980. Also preceded in death by brothers, Donald, Wade, Warren and Arthur; and son-in-law, Roy Salyards. Survived by daughters, Shirley (David) Rhoades, Donna Salyards and Barbara (George) Barr; grandchildren, Charles (Kathy) Strong, Terri (Rolondo) Rivero, Karen Arbuthnot, David (Linda) Rhoades, Donald (Penny) Rhoades, Michael Barr, Dennis (Teresa) Barr, Susan (Jim) Welch and Daniel Barr; 18 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Margie Miller and Lucille Causer. She would like to acknowledge her longtime friend and caregiver, Mary Ann Williams; and her physician, Dr. Michael Tatarko. Lifetime member of Nanty Glo United Methodist Church. Until recently, she was an active member in the Red Hat Society and the Business & Professional Women's Club, and volunteered at Nanty Glo Senior Center. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at Nanty Glo United Methodist Church, the Rev. John Snyder, officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown
