Twila M. (Rice) Buchanan

Twila M. (Rice) Buchanan, 96, Brush Valley Twp., passed away, March 23, 2018, at Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 9, 1921 in Mecco, Pa. Daughter of the late Mark and Annie (Blystone) Rice. Preceded in death by husband Carl B. Buchanan, son Richard Buchanan, brother Albert Pete Rice, and sisters Dorothy Rice, Mary Bell, and Edna Moose. Son-in-law William Butch Orvosh. Twila is survived by her children Beverly (Jerry) Dick, Penn Run; Kenneth (Joy) Buchanan, Brush Valley Twp.; Bonnie (Micheal) Chionchio, Alpharetta, Ga; Sharon Orvosh, Nowrytown, Pa; Carol (Kurt) Catob, Brush Valley Twp.; Cynthia (Joseph) Schillinger, Brush Valley Twp.; Brenda (Richard) Sievers, Elizabethtown, Pa. 21 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren, and 15 great great grandchildren. She is the sister of Virginia Lue Bell, Homer City and James Rice, Homer City, Pa. Member of the United Methodist Church, Brush Valley. Twila served as a Girl Scout leader in the Brush Valley area. She was a member of the Brush Valley Birthday Club, Brush Valley Senior Citizens, Brush Valley Fire ladies Auxiliary, and lifetime member and treasurer of True Blue Club, Brush Valley, and Twolick Valley Social Center, Clymer. Family and friends will be received at C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City, on Monday from 6-8 P.M. and Tuesday from 10 A.M until the time of service at 1 P.M. at the funeral home, her grandson Pastor John Stahlman, officiating. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetrery.
