Thomas J. Dongilla, 82, of Indiana, PA passed peacefully on August 1, 2013 surrounded by his loved ones. He was the son of the late Corido and Elizabeth (Rose) Dongilli and was born June 4, 1931 in Johnstown, PA. Thomas served his country proudly as an Army Sergeant in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College and received his masters from Penn State University. Thomas was an art professor for 24 years at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Professor Emeritus. He is survived by three sons, Thomas Jr. of Jeannette, PA, David and wife Kristine of Jeannette, PA, and Christopher and wife Jonelle of Homer City, PA; their mother, Florence Dongilla of Indiana, PA; four grandchildren, Melissa Sparacino of Shadyside, PA, Olivia Dongilla of Jeannette, PA, Elizabeth Dongilla of Jeannette, PA and Dominic Dongilla of Homer City, PA. He is also survived by his sister, Dolores Marsinko of Indiana, PA and by his long-time best friend and partner Cynthia Hutnyan of Bethesda, MD. He was a lover of life, pasta parties and all things Italian, and spending time with his circle of great friends. Thomas's family invites friends to celebrate his life on Sunday, August 11th from 2-6 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home in Homer City, PA.
