Theodore R. Loughner

Theodore R. Loughner, 87, Homer City died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at his late residence surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Aaron and Jennie (Frye) Loughner and was born March 14, 1926 in Coral. He was a member of the Coral Graceton Sportsman Club and UMWA Local #488 Lucernemines. His pastimes included fishing and hunting. Mr. Loughner was an Air Force Veteran having served in WWII. He was a retired coal miner having been employed by Oneida and North American Mines. Mr. Loughner is survived by five children, Bonnie Loughner, with whom he resided; Sherrie and her husband Dan Hagens of Belsano; Jennie and her husband Larry Stone of Blacklick; Ted Loughner Jr. and Tina Jones of Harrodsburg, KY and Kim and her husband Gary Kohler of Strattsford, CT. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Daniel (April) Hagens Jr., Melissa (Donald) Shirk, Jeffrey (Lauren) Stone, Jason (Chris) Stone, Nick (Leah McCoy) Stone, Ian (Talia Kinney) Blaine, Bethani Kohler, Brett Kohler and 13 great grandchildren. Sister-in-laws, Louise Burkley and Amelia Loughner also survive him. Mr. Loughner was the last surviving member of his immediate family. The family would like to give a special thanks to our cousin Joe Loughner for his weekly visits to dad. Also, thank you to caregivers who came to help with dad, Shawn, Sherri, Curt, Claire, Linda, Kim and Cleo. Please forgive us if we have forgotten your name and God Bless you all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes; grandson, Aaron; brothers, Jim, Ferd and Bob Loughner and sisters, Martha Edwards, Jean Succheralli and infant sister, Henrietta. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home Homer City. A where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. R.A. Wallace, officiating. Interment in the Greenwood Cemetery. Graveside Military Rites will be conducted.
