Shirley Anne (Jackens) Kovach

Kovach-Shirley Anne (Jackens), 84, Nanty Glo, passed away April 20, 2019 at home. She was born Sept. 15, 1934 in Nanty Glo. Daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Mahan) Jackens. Preceded in death by husband Paul P. Kovach. Brother John "Jack" Jackens. Shirley is survived by her children Paul Kovach, Elizabeth Hayes, Lynette (Brian) McEvoy. Grandchildren Seth (Allie), Austin (Cede), and Olivia. Great grandchildren Mya, Bella, Annalyse, Addley, and Waylon. Sister of Mary Jane Crnarich and Patricia Jackens. Many nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary's Church, Nanty Glo, where she belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society. Member of Nanty Glo Senior Center and National Slovak Society. Visitation will be at the Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, on Wednesday from 5-8 PM, where liturgical Wake Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday 10 AM, at St. Mary's Church, Fr. Leonard Voytek, the Celebrant. Interment to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Nanty Glo Senior Center.
