Sara Jane (Werts) Spiker

Sara Jane Spiker, 73, Homer City, formerly of Pittsburgh and Erie died March 4,2017 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Gertrude Katherine (Swift) Werts and was born June 13, 1943 in Camden, New Jersey. She enjoyed bowling and was in a bowling league for the blind, a member of St. Mark's in Erie and she was a deacon at her Presbyterian church. She was a lively spirit and enjoyed listening to audiobooks, enjoyed walking with her husband and volunteered at meals on wheels. Sara was a self employed cook at her husbands full service snack bar, Chuck's Snack Bar. She also was employed as a cleaner for ION Insurance. Sara was survived by her husband, Charles O.; three children, Ruth Ann Kimmel, Homer City; David Charles Spiker and partner Kyle West, Raleigh, NC and Thomas Eric Spiker, New Orlean, LA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Joanna Lee Kimmel, Samuel Edward Kimmel and Jacki Rae Kimmel and her sister, Barbara Ann Feltenberger and husband Richard, Erie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Gert Lafollowett, Naomi Kitts and Janet Cavana Smuggerski and two brothers, John and Larry Werts. Friends will he received Wednesday from noon until time of service at 2PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City.
