Rudolph Albert Steffish, 92, of Creekside passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was the son of George and Mary Katherine (Hardick) Stefffish. Rudy was born July 24, 1924 in Hamilton. He was a proud WWII Veteran who served in World War II for six years. He worked in the coal mines for 32 years and was a member of local 1412. Rudy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had been a long time member of the Eagles, Moose and the VFW. He really enjoyed polka music and having name your price yard sales. He is survived by his daughter Janet and husband Harold Butch Housholder Jr., of Coral; his step grandchildren, Harold Housholder III and wife Hope of Homer City; Matt Housholder and wife Tammy of Coral and Brooke Housholder and special friend JD Bishop of Indiana. He is also survived by his step grandchildren, Hannah, Cody, Jett and Locke Housholder; one brother, Michael Steffish and wife Betty of Indiana; a Godson, Timothy Steffish and wife Rebecca of Indiana. He's also survived by many special nieces and nephews. Rudy was preceded in death by his parents and Laura (Wojcik) Steffish his wife of 53 years. He was also preceded in death by three brothers Andrew, George and John and three sisters Mary Riley, Pauline Kovalyak and Irene Gallo. He is also preceded in death by his godson Rudolph Rudy Albert Steffish. A special thanks to the caring staff at Lynn Haven in Blacklick for their kindness to Rudy this past year. Also a special thanks to Pastor Tedd Cogar for his spiritual support to our family and friends. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, August 16th from 4 to 8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. His funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Tedd Cogar officiating. Interment will be in the St. Bernard cemetery, Indiana.
