Rudolph S. (Rudy) Rura

Rudolph S. Rura Sr., 88, Homer City passed away Monday, March 5, 2018. He was the son of the late Paul and Matilda (Konkol) Rura and was born July 21, 1930 in Coral. Rudy was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, a member of Jednota Branch #484, and a dairy farmer for many years. After having the farm, Rudy worked as a Boilermaker, Local #154, until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and watching football. Rudy is survived by his wife Joan (Mihalko) Rura; two sons, Edward and wife Suzanne, Homer City and Rudolph Rura, Jr., Philadelphia and five grandchildren, Elisa, Danielle, Chris, Stephen and Robert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, George, who passed away February 28, 2016. Rudy was also preceded in death by his three brothers, Paul, John and Michael Rura. Friends will be received Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. A Blessing service will be held Friday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral Site. Interment to follow in the St. Bernard Mausoleum.
