Richard Carl "Opie" Risinger, age 50, of Homer City died October 15, 2014 at Shadyside Hospital. He was born on August 30, 1964 and was the son of William and Geraldine (London) Risinger. Richard was a former member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Indiana. He was a member of the Appalachian Wagon Train Association and the Superintendent of the horse barn at the Indiana County Fair. Richard was employed by Key Energy Service where he drove tractor trailer. Richard is survived by his wife Deborah (Shaffer) and three children; Joseph, of Homer City, Joshua and wife Cherish, of Saltsburg, and Amanda, of Homer City. He is also survived by one grandson, Talon Risinger, step-mother, Ressie Risinger of Indiana and three sisters Sally Prugh and husband Bob, of Commodore; Susan Douglas and husband Jim, of Blairsville; Donna Sleppy and husband Dan, of Nolo; and one brother James Risinger and wife Nancy, of Indiana. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Richard is preceded in death by his brother William Risinger and sister-in-law Linda Risinger. Friends will be received Friday from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. Visitation will also be held Saturday from 9AM until time of service at 11AM at the Bethel Presbyterian Church with the Rev. R.A. Wallace, officiating. Interment to follow in the Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
