Raymond R. "Bob" Kotula, 69, of Indiana, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Indiana Regional Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. The son of Theodore F. Kotula, Sr. and Barbara Ellen Collins Kotula, he was born on June 5, 1943, in Numine, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. Bob was a 1961 graduate of Laura Lamar High School. He is a veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1962-1965. He was an active member of St. Mary's Holy Protection Byzantine Catholic Church in Homer City were he was known as "Mr. Fix it." He retired from Homer City Power Plant. Bob was a loving father, uncle, and PopPop who loved being surrounded by all of his family. He was an advid gardener. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds especially if his children or grandchildren were participating. He helped coach Junior and Senior Legion baseball. He enjoyed taking walks and helping anyone who asked. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Kotula, Indiana, Pa; children, Mary Ellen Glickson and husband Todd, Princeton Junction, N.J; Michael and wife Sherri, East Moline, Illinois; Veronica and husband Frank, Indiana, Pa; Nicholas, Camp Hill, Pa; 7 grandchildren, Brelyn, Lauren, Mikala, Savanna, Raymond, Annika, and Sarah; 2 sisters Carole Parker, Beaufort, S.C; Barbara Gravel and husband Joe and children, Elizabeth, Teddy, and Caroline of North Reading, MA; and brother, Richard Kotula, Lucernemines, Pa. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Barbara Kotula, two brothers, Theodore Jr. and James, and a nephew, Timothy Kotula. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City, where a Parastas service will be held at 2 p.m. A Panachida will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home followed by a funeral liturgy at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Holy Protection Byzantine Catholic Church, Homer City, with Father Cuthbert Jack as celebrant. Interment to follow at the SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
