Nicholis Andrew Bobinets

Nicholis A. Bobinets, lovingly known as Pap, Dad, and Big Nick passed away November 1, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. 

Nick was born May 24, 1945 to his late parents, George and Rose Bobinets. Nick grew up in Coy and attended school at Laura Lamar High School, where he was a stand out athlete, often bragging about the undefeated 1963 Laura Lamar football team. 

Nick proudly served in the United States Air Force and bravely fought in the Vietnam War. 

Nick met the love of his life, Mary Jo in 1967 and spent the next 57 years raising their family, making memories and loving each other. 

Nick enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, camping and sports. He could “fix” anything and everything. In his later years he enjoyed his casino time with his son, Nick, before heading to Pitt football games. But most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; his brother, George (Marie); his children, Jamie (Chris), Stacie, Jo, Nicholis, and Danielle (Jimmie); and his grandchildren, Sammi (Bob), Caitlynn, Montao (Laken), Kayla and McKenna. 

Nick was loved by many and will be missed by all. Rest easy Big Nick.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Homer City. A Blessing Service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Lucernemines Site.
