Nicholas "Nick" Morgan, age 81 of Home, PA died Wednesday, March 4, 2020 in Latrobe, PA. He was born on September 23, 1938 to Nicholas and Elizabeth Rostis Morgan in Young Township, PA. Nick enlisted in the Army upon graduation from Laura Lamar High School. He served with the 3rd Armored Division in Heidelberg, Germany during the Berlin Crisis as a radio operator. Upon returning home, he was selected to attend the Pennsylvania State Police Academy. Nick began his career as a State Trooper stationed in State College.  He then worked several years in Huntington, where he worked undercover Vice Detail. After a decorated career there, he worked Narcotics out of Punxsutawney. He spent the majority of his career stationed at the Indiana barracks, where he retired in 1992. Upon retirement, he worked as a Private Investigator and also in the Security Detail at the Keystone Power Plant in Shelocta. While with the State Police, Nick looked forward to summers spent working as an instructor at Camp Cadet where he could influence and mentor youth. Nick also served as a member of the PA National Guard. He  was in the 28th  Division, within the 110th Infantry in Indiana, PA. He retired a Platoon Sergeant.

Nicholas was an avid outdoorsman, and he passed on his love for the outdoors to his three sons. He enjoyed Hunting, fishing, and trapping, also running a small trapping supply business out of his home. He was a member of the F.O.P., the V.F.W., and the American Legion.

Nicholas is survived by his wife, Frances Beresnyak Morgan, Home PA and three sons Matthew Morgan, Bethel, Alaska; Nathan Morgan, Newtown, PA; Jason (Joanna) Morgan, Lucernemines. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Emily, Isabella, Alexander, and Christopher Morgan; 2 nieces and 1 nephew Christina (James) Costello, Homer City,  Lisa (Gerald) Medice, Indiana, and Louie Sacco, Homer City.

Nick is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Elizabeth "Betty" Sacco.

Friends will be received Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9pm and from 9am until the time of the Blessing Service at 9:30 on Monday at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Monday at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Lucernemines site.
