Nancy Lynn Mowry

d. June 4, 2016

Nancy Ann, beloved mother and adored by all who knew her, passed away peacefully in Scottsdale, AZ on June 4, 2016 with her daughter Nancy Lynn by her side. She grew up in Nanty Glo, PA and after attending Bowling Green University she was selected to be a flight attendant with Eastern Airlines. She married Clinton Warren Mowry and resided in North Olmsted, OH. She later moved to Reston, VA where she single handedly raised her daughters Nancy Lynn Mowry of Reston, VA and Patrice Monique Malloy of Avon, OH. While living in Virginia she was a court reporter for DC Superior Court and later opened her court reporting business on Main St. in Fairfax, VA. She is preceded in death by her father Nick Popek, mother Helen Popek and brother Jerry Popek. She is survived by her two daughters, her grandchildren Katie Ann Malloy and Steven James Malloy; her sisters Louise Volk, Helen Mucha, Nikki Morris, Karen Lane and her brother Michael Popek. Nancy was an excellent golfer, was in several golf leagues and taught her daughters to golf. She was an outstanding cook, interior decorator, organizer and was very handy. She owned every imaginable tool and did many of her own home repairs and improvements. She often could be found sprucing up her yard with pots she painted herself and she recently designed the desert landscaping for her Scottsdale home. She made it known you could not disturb her while she was watching a football game. She will be missed immensely and never forgotten. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Holy Ascension Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 980 Caroline St., Nanty Glo, from 1:00 P.M. til the time of the Funeral Liturgy at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Fr.
