Mike Marusa

Mike Marusa, 90, of Homer City died January 16, 2024.  He was the son of the late Pete and Ella Marusa. He was born December 14, 1933 in Dixonville, PA.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael P. Marusa; his great grandson, Hunter; and eleven brothers and sisters.

Mike worked in administration at Robertshaw Controls Company after serving in the United States Navy.  He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, where he served as an usher.  Mike was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he served for 70 years.

He spent 28 years as a football official, 16 years as a baseball official and 6 years as a softball official. He also spend numerous years volunteering and coaching youth sports leagues in Homer City.  Mike also volunteered for the Homer City Food Bank.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sara (Ruffner) Marusa; his three daughters, Michel Marusa, Kathleen Marusa and Susan Marusa; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed.

Friends will be received Thursday from 3-7 PM at Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Homer City.  A Blessing Service will be held Friday at 10:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral Site.  Interment to follow in the St. Louis Cemetery, Lucernemines.
