Michael E. Zelenski, 87, Indiana formerly of Waterman died August 23, 2011 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was born August 11, 1924 in Curwensville, PA and was the son of the late Stanley and Ann (Topeck) Zelenski. He was a retired coal miner having been employed by R & P Coal Company. Mr. Zelenski was a WWII Army Veteran having served in the South Pacific and a member of UMWA Local #1412. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. Mr. Zelenski was also a Lifetime member of the American Legion Post #141, Indiana and the Indiana VFW Post # 1989. Michael is survived by his wife Helen P. (Zorak); one son - Daniel Zelenski and partner Brenda Fleming, Indiana 2 grandchildren - Dan F. Zelenski and wife Christie, Ohio and their son Landon and Senta Zelenski, Elderton and her daughter Abrah. Sister - Josephine Geotz and husband Dick, St. Mary's And numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers - Stanley, Joseph and John Zelenski and William Rokosky Sr. and sisters - Stephanie Martinak, Kate Michna and Helen Bard. He is also preceded in death by his loving dog Casey. Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City where a Vigil for the deceased will be recited Friday. A Blessing Service will be held Saturday morning at 9:30AM at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Lucernemines Site with Rev. Fr. Terry Hercik, the celebrant. Interment to follow in the Oakland Mausoleum . Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by Local Veteran Organizations.
