Michael Rebovich "Blackie", 90, Homer City died Thursday, June 07, 2012 at the Communities of Indian Haven. He was the son of the late John and Susan (Tisak) Rebovich and was born June 28, 1921 in Graceton. Mr. Rebovich was a member of SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Homer City. He was a member of UMWA Local #1257 and was a retired coal miner where he was employed for 42 years. Michael was a WWII Veteran where he received 4 bronze stars. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by 2 sons - Michael and wife Laura Rebovich of Homer City; Andrew and wife Jan Rebovich of West Carollton, Ohio; Grandchildren - Michael, William, Calvin and Kahle; 2 Brothers George Rebovich of Clymer and Paul Rebovich of Homer City and 3 sisters Anna Jakob of Pittsburgh, Helen Saverine of New Jersey and Lillian Rebovich of Indiana. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife - Josephine (Volk) Rebovich, brothers - Steve, Nick, Ed, Joe and John and sister - Mary Yanity Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City where a Panachida will be recited at 6 PM. A Panachida will be held Saturday at 9:15 AM at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10 AM at SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Homer City with Father Matthew W. Conjelko, the celebrant. Interment to follow in the St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
