Maxine Burkley

Maxine M. Burkley, age 83, of Lucernmines passed away October 7, 2024 at Westmoreland Hospital. Maxine was born on November 3, 1940 in Lucernmines and was the daughter of Steve and Marie (Biggie) Yanoscsik. 

Maxine enjoyed The Steelers, camping, entertaining and spending time with her children.

She is survived by three daughters Debbie Dietz and husband Ralph of Greensburg; Connie Swets and husband Rod of Minnesota; and Jessica Warpness and husband Cory of Wyoming. She is survived by six grandchildren, Dylan, Bobby, Stephanie, Courtney, Rachael, and Layne and three great grandchildren: Mia, Addyson, and Jade.

She is also survived by one sister Kathleen Sprankle and husband Jim of Penn Run. And two sister-in-law’s Mimi Yanoscsik and Jane Pala. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Maxine was preceded in death by parents, husband Tom brothers Donald “Eugene” and Jim and children Tom, Christine and Michael.

Friends will be received Sunday, October 13 from1-4 pm to accommodate Steeler fans at the Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. A Blessing service will be held Monday at 10:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Lucernemines. Interment to follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
