Our beloved Matthew Anderson Templeton, 41, of Indiana, PA was called to heaven on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
Born on July 21, 1982, to his parents, Lynne and Dennis Templeton, “Matte” was a happy, adventurous son, always busy with friends, sports, and sometimes mischief.
Matt graduated from Indiana University Pennsylvania in 2006 with a marketing degree. It was here he met the love of his life, Amanda, whom he wed on October 2, 2010. With great ambition, he started his own successful painting business, taking pride in his work to please customers, many of whom became his friends. His proudest moment in life was the birth of his beautiful daughter, Ella. As a loving, devoted father, he cherished every moment spent with her, never missing an activity or opportunity to create new memories.
Of all his interests, Matt loved most any time he spent with family and friends. He always looked forward to weekends at the “Goat House” along the river in Warren, fishing trips to Colorado, camping or hiking, vacations to the beach, archery and rifle hunting, and any opportunity to travel. Matt was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and loved music, often jamming to Phish. He maintained a beautiful home and particularly enjoyed landscaping. He was an adventurous cook in the kitchen, on the grill, smoker or pizza oven. Matt will always be remembered for his compassionate heart, wonderful sense of humor, and the joy he brought to life.
In addition to his parents, wife, and daughter, Matt is survived by his brother Erik Templeton, wife Erin; niece and nephews Adelae, Liam, and Maximillian; mother and father-in-law Marcella and Jim Capitosti; sister-in-law Ashley and husband Nathan; brothers-in-law Joe (Brooke) and John, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Matt was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Sara and Wallace Anderson, paternal grandparents Angeline and Mervin Templeton, and brother-in-law Jimmy Capitosti.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Homer City, PA. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11 AM at Grace Church, Indiana, PA, with Pastor Kathy Mihoerck, officiating.
