Mary Margaret (McQuiston) Obush

Mary Margaret (McQuiston) Obush, 87, Lucernemines died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at St. Andrews Village. She was the daughter of the late Jame and Margaret (Burns) McQuiston and was born November 1, 1925 in Lucernemines. Me-Me, as everyone called he,r was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In her life, Me-Me enjoyed keeping house, baking thousands of cookies at Christmas (her favorite holiday) for family and friends, sewing, putting together jigsaw puzzles, doing crossword puzzles and playing solitaire and cards with her friends. She was also a Cub Scout leader for many years. Later in life, she enjoyed spending her summer at her camp at Tidioute, PA on the Allegheny River. She also loved to go shopping with her daughter and granddaughters. Mrs. Obush is survived by her two children, George M. (Marty) Obush and his wife Nancy of Indiana and Susan (Obush) Snyder and her husband Ken of Homer City; four granddaughters, Melissa (Snyder) Moore and her husband Nick of Homer City, Stephanie (Snyder) Armstrong and her husband John of Indiana, Kristen Obush of Greensburg and Jocelyn Obush of Johnstown. She is also survived by her great grandsons, Colin Moore, Abram and Lucas Armstrong and her brother, Wayne McQuiston of Homer City. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George E. (Tode) Obush, whom she married August 25, 1950 and died on January 29, 2011; brothers, James Burns and Michael C. (BoBo) McQuiston. In lieu of flowers please make all contributions to the Crosslands Rehab Unit at St. Andrew Village, Indiana, PA Friends will be received Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City where services will be held Sunday at 1:00PM at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Paul Morris, officiating. Interment to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
