Mary K. Bruno, age 91, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2013 at the Indiana Regional Hospital. Daughter of Giuseppe and Flora (Calfo) Bruno, Mary was born on April 16, 1922 and lived her entire life in Homer City, PA. She is predeceased by her parents and brothers, Andrew, Domenick, an infant brother, Tony, and her sister, Rose Bruno Saffron. Mary was the food service manager of the Indiana Country Club for more than 25 years and was known for her outstanding banquet arrangements and her creative cake baking skills. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church where she was an altar server for many years. Mary is survived by her nephew Joseph P. Saffron (Merceda) and niece, Joan M. Anthou (George); six great nieces and nephews: Joe, Jenny and Andy Saffron; Manuela, David and Gregory Anthou and eleven great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom gave her much joy. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 3rd from 3 until 7PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home in Homer City, PA. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, September 4th at 11 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lucernemines, PA. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
