Kurt Dashielle Catob

Kurt Dashielle Catob, 77, Homer City passed away peacefully on April 15, 2019 at Canterbury Place, Family Hospice Inpatient Center, Lawrenceville, PA. He was the son of the late Karl A. and Agnes H. (Barlass) Catob and was born January 28, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA. Kurt served in the Army in Korea as a helicopter mechanic, life member of VFW Post 6393, Yardley, PA, member of American Legion Post 493, Homer City, and American Legion Riders Firebase 493. He was also a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 1468, 40-8 Voiture Locale #798, Red Barn Sportsman Club, Graceton-Coral Sportsman Club, A.B.A.T.E of PA, American Motorcycle Association, Tubmill Trout Club Unlimited and Bradford Rod and Gun Club. Kurt was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed time spent with friends in the woods and on the streams. Teaching the grandsons to shoot in the backyard was a highlight of his life. His love for motorcycles gave him adventures of travel and the opportunity to meet and make new friends from all over this country as well as Canada. Kurt was a graduate of Pennsbury High School in Fallsington, PA, a 1969 graduate of IUP with a bachelor of Arts in English. He was a sales engineer of Sanford Miller Company, a partnership with Roger Coudriet since November of 1999. He worked in sales with CKE in Homer City, Ocenco in Blairsville, AO Smith-Harvestore, Petri-John Deere Equipment and Syntron. Also he was a cowboy in Texas after his discharge from the Army. Kurt is survived by his wife Carol A. (Buchanan) Catob whom he married June 5, 1971; two children, Brady Catob of Capon Bridge, West Virginia and Brooke and husband Frank Kichurchak of Medina, Ohio; five grandsons, Casey Catob, Winchester, Virginia, Alex, Ian, Jack, and Kellan Kichurchak, all of Medina, Ohio. He is also survived by two brothers, Karl J. Catob and wife Gloria, Lakeland, Florida, Erik D. Catob and wife Karen, Taccoa, Georgia and one sister, Sheryl Loux, Denver, Colorado; brother-in law, Ken and wife Joy Buchanan, Brush Valley, sister-in-laws, Beverly and husband Jerry Dick, Penn Run, Bonnie and husband Michael Chionchio, Alpharetta, Georgia, Sharon Orvosh, Nowrytown, Cindy and husband Joe Schillinger, Brush Valley and Brenda and husband Richard Sievers, Elizabethtown, PA. A multitude of wonderful nieces and nephews also survive him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-laws, Paul Loux and William (Butch) Orvosh, sister-in-law, Jackie Catob and mother-in-law, Twila Buchanan. Friends will be received, Jun 15, 2019 from 2 PM until memorial services at 4 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. Donations in Kurt's honor can be made to the "4 corners ride" to be hosted by his American Legion Riders Firebase in May. All proceeds stay in Pennsylvania for the scholarship endowment fund and Pennsylvania Emergency Fund for Veterans.
