Kathryn “Katie” Rado, 93, of Homer City passed Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at St. Andrew’s Village after a brief illness.
She was born November 4, 1926 in Homer City, PA to the late John and Anna (Washile) O’Hara.
Katie was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Homer City, where she enjoyed baking and cooking with the other ladies of the parish and was employed for many years at Sestie’s Restaurant. She loved baking, cooking, polkas and having great gatherings at her home. Katie was also,known to deer hunt with her husband, Steve and the gang.
She is survived by her sister, Sue Kurtz ofBarberton, Ohio; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve and her son, John; sisters, Helen Casey, Margaret O’Hara, Mary Leach-Martin, June Best, Ann “Honey” Timura and Elizabeth “Jackie” Wargo; and brothers, John and Michael “Jack” O'Hara.
Due to public health concerns there will be no public visitation or funeral services. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
