Joseph John Szymusiak, 79, Gettysburg, PA formerly of Nanty Glo, PA died February 27, 2016 at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle, PA. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Androskovitch) Sysmusiak and was born April 5, 1936 in Nanty Glo. Mr. Szymusiak was employed by the Westmont Hilltop School District as an Industrial Arts teacher until 1975. He then owned the Krispy Kream in Belsano from 1975 - 1982. He was a member of St. Marys Roman Catholic Church, Nanty Glo and St. Francis Xavier Church in Gettysburg, PA. He was also a United States Marine Corps Veteran and a member of the Nanty Glo VFW. He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline A. (Previte) Szymusiak who passed away November 28, 2010. He is survived by his daughter, Christine M (Szymusiak) Taylor of Mechanicsburg, PA., and his grandchildren, Renee Lynn and Lauren Leigh Taylor who meant the entire world to him. He is also survived by four sisters, Joan (Leo) DiGiola, Gaithersburg, MD; Marie (John - DECEASED) Division, Gaithersburg, MD; Carol (Robert) Wilson, Virginia Beach, VA and Janice (Mike) McDermott, Gaithersburg, MD Visitation will be held Thursday from 11 AM until time of Funeral Mass at St Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Gettysburg at noon, with Rev. Father Daniel Richards, the celebrant. Interment will be held Friday at 1:30 PM at the St. Marys Cemetery, Nanty Glo.
