Joseph Babco, 83, of Homer City passed away on Monday, July 15 at home. He was the son of Joseph and Daisy (Shaffer) Babco and was born on June 24, 1930 in Dixonville. Joe lived his entire life in Indiana County. He was a member of the Homer City American Legion Post #493 and the Red Barn Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. He was employed at Syntron/FMC for 41 years prior to his retirement in 1991. He is survived by his son, James Babco and his wife Margaret of Blairsville; daughter, Linda Balls and her husband Dennis of Homer City; grandchildren, Todd Babco, Jaime Vandegrift and her husband Jason, Jeffrey Balls and Leanne Shaw and her husband Steve. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Kaylee and Ryan Babco, Ella Sylvis, Madison Shaw and Dayton Lundberg and his best buddy "Charlie". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife M. Louise Babco, daughter, Judy Nastase; granddaughter, Brenda Michel and great-grandchildren, Andrew Babco and Makayla Lundberg. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Todd Babcoe, John Babco and Robert Babcoe and sisters, Betty Stewart and Peggy Miller. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home where services will be held Thursday at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
