John Harold Edmiston Jr., 79, Homer City died December 4, 2023, at Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late John H. and Cleo (McGinnis) Edmiston Sr. and was born on April 30, 1944, in Petersburg, PA.
John was retired from the Homer City Power Plant and a member of the Brush Valley United Methodist Church. He was a member of the United States National Guard.
He always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. John was a passionate conservationist and an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper, and outdoor enthusiast. John was a member of the Graceton-Coral Sportsman Club Inc., American Legion Post #0493, Red Barn Sportsman Club, and Kane VFW Auxiliary Post #1132. He was also a member of Moose Lodge #174, Sons of Italy, and Petersburg, Pa Volunteer Fire Company No.1.
John is survived by his three daughters, Janet Everhart and husband, Bryan, Homer City; Karen Irvin and husband, Robert, Henderson, Nevada; Susan Edmiston and husband, David Metz, Kane, PA; and his five grandchildren, Kimberly (Sam) Olechovski, Benjamin, Piper and Brooklynn Irvin and Mason Metz. He is also survived by his brother, William Edmiston and wife Ruth, Alexandria, PA.
Friends will be received Friday from 4 until 6 PM at Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Homer City. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 6 PM at the funeral home.
