John Thomas Dudash, Jr.

John Thomas Dudash Jr., 46, of Washington, DC died unexpectedly at home February 15, 2014. John was born December 10, 1967 in Homer City, PA, son of John Sr. and Sandra (Sivulich) Dudash. A 1986 graduate of Homer-Center High School, John attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned a BS in Education in 1990. John fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a teacher when he was hired after graduation by the Prince George's County Public Schools in Maryland, where he worked for 25 years as an elementary and middle school teacher. John was an active member of the National Education Association, and counted as friends numerous educators from all over the US. In 2005, he earned a MS in Psychology from the University of the District of Columbia. John made a tremendous impact in the lives of countless students, colleagues, softball teammates, and friends with his humorous spirit and loving nature. He is survived by his parents of Homer City, PA, a sister, Audrey (Andrew) Sites of Murrysville, PA and a brother, Andrew (Janine) Dudash of Ennisville, PA, five beloved nieces and nephews, Abigail and Meredith Sites and Silas, Kazmira and August Dudash, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. John was preceded in death by a cousin Scott Young, and maternal grandparents, Eva and George Sivulich and paternal grandparents, John and Mary Dudash. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 23rd from 2-6 at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home in Homer City, PA. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 AM at the funeral home.
