John Angelini of Homer City passed away at home on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Nowrytown, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Nicola and Adelina (Scarafone) Angelini. John was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA, Local # 488, Lucernemines, Pennsylvania. He was also a member of the Red Barn Sportsman Club and a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. John enjoyed outdoor activities such as gardening, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and dog Sammy. The most important things to John were his faith and his family. John is survived by his wife Mary Ann (Smith) Angelini of 52 years; five children, John Nicholas Angelini and wife LuAnn of Leechburg, Lisa Ann and husband Robert Nymick of Homer City, Christopher Michael Angelini of Montgomery, David Anthony Angelini and wife Kathleen of Alexandria, Virginia and Michele Denise Angelini of Apollo. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Kenneth, Nikala and Stephanie Angelini, Tommy Haluscak and Ashleigh (Chris) Hannigan, Stephen and Matthew Nymick, Ethan, Lauren, Katelin and Shannon Angelini and Brittany, Meghan, Courtney and Kelly Angelini. He is also survived by one great granddaughter, Rylee Hannigan; his three sisters Sophia Hazlett of Nowrytown and Jennie Markitell and Rachel Garzone of Avonmore, PA and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Friday, November 14, from 9 AM until the time of the blessing service at 10:30 AM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home in Homer City. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Coral, with Father Ron Cyktor the Celebrant and interment to follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Coral.
