Joanne C. DeCarlo passed away peacefully on December 30, 2023, at the age of 98, in Indiana, Pennsylvania. She was born on September 9, 1925, in Starford, Pennsylvania.
Joanne graduated from the Green Township School in Starford, PA, with the class of 1944. Joanne worked at Pavlins Bakery in Homer City and was a member of the Homer City Borough Council. She also worked at the Pantry at IRMC. Joanne was an active member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish.
Joanne loved playing Bingo and visiting many casinos with her dear friend Dorothy Novak, family members, and many friends made along the way.
A member of the Women's Bowling League at Mohawk Lanes, Joanne found joy in the camaraderie and sportsmanship on the lanes. Her warmth and hospitable nature shone brightly during her Saturday night card games, which will be lovingly remembered by friends and family.
Joanne was preceded by her loving husband, Anthony DeCarlo. She will be greatly missed by her children, Carole Midock, Pamela DeCarlo, and Robert DeCarlo. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Jessica (Midock) Gally, Amanda (DeCarlo) Shirley, Heather (Midock) Shepherd, Rachelle (DeCarlo) Cancilla, Christina (Midock) Gresh, Sarah (DeCarlo) Bolon, and Maria DeCarlo, who will carry her legacy forward. Her love will also live on through her twelve cherished great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 9 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Homer City. Interment will follow in the St. Louis Cemetery, Lucernemines.
Joanne will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will forever remain a cherished part of our memories.
