Janice (Swartz) Deetscreek, 62, Nanty Glo, saw her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face Oct. 10 2013, after a two-year journey with cancer. Born June 24, 1951, in Johnstown, daughter of Raymond and Wilda (McCall) Swartz. Preceded in death by father. Survived my mother, Wilda; loving husband of 43 years, Barron "Barry," Nanty Glo; son, Bradley (Tara), Akron, Ohio, and grandchildren, Finn, Sullivan, Killian and Sawyer; daughter, Lynn Anne (Charles) Fenchak, Nanty Glo, and grandchildren, Isaac, Hope and Jailyn. Sister of Madeline (Robert) Martinazzi, Larry (Debra) Swartz, Nancy (Donald) Thomas, Raymond (Laurie) Swartz, Linda Lonesky, Brenda (James) Mackanick, Brian (Kathy) Swartz, Susan (Glenn) Callendar, Lori Oldham and Lisa (Steve) Simasek; numerous nieces and nephews; and very special friend, Linda Fenchak. Janice was a graduate of Blacklick Valley High School and the University of Pittsburgh. She received a master's degree in education from St. Francis University and also attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania's principal certification program. She devoted her life to the Cambria County Christian School from 1979-2011. She loved Jesus, spending time with and vacationing with her family, water skiing at Lake Raystown, scrapbooking with her daughter, Lynn, mentoring hundreds of young people, watching hummingbirds on her deck and playing songs to her Savior on her baby grand piano. She is celebrating with Jesus now. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Pike Grace Brethren Church, Mundys Corner, Pastor Joe Couch. Interment, church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in her memory to Cambria County Christian School.
