Irene Marie (Yanity) Stivison, age 88, of Coral, died March 8, 2015, at St. Andrew's Village. Irene was born on September 20, 1926 in Homer City, PA. She was the daughter of Peter George and Irene (Kramish) Yanity, and the stepdaughter of Arthur C. Gertson. Irene was a 1944 graduate of Homer City High School. She married Roy Edward "Red" Stivison in November of 1950. Irene was a member of the St. Francis Altar and Rosary Society of the Assumption Parish, Coral. Irene is survived by her sister, Yvonne "Vonnie" Gintz, Dover, OH, and her brother-in-law James G. Wiley of Greensburg, and several nieces and nephews: Jim and Jackie Wiley, Indiana; Patricia and Bill Newman, Greensburg; Peggy Jo and Terry Foley, Atlanta, Georgia; Mary Kay and Larry Bell, State College; Donald P. Gintz, Columbiana, OH, and Stephen B. Gintz, Dover, Ohio. In Addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her half-sister Jeanne in 1966, her stepfather in 1971, her husband in 1997, her brother-in-law Gerald Gintz in 2000, and her sister Margaret "Peggy" Lou Wiley in 2010 Irene's family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of St. Andrews Village for their loving care and kindness, and also to VNA Hospice for their support. Irene was a lifelong flower gardener. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irene's memory to St. Andrews Village for the maintenance of their flower gardens, or to VNA Hospice. Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. A blessing service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral Site, with Rev. Fr. Ron Cyktor, the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.
