Gil C. Braga, 94, Josephine died November 19, 2018 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Alvaro and Demecilia (da Silva) da costa Braga and was born January 26, 1924 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Mr. Braga was a member of the Brazilian Air Force. After his service in the Brazilian Air Force, he was a business man for the rest of his life. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge were he was a 32 degree Mason, and the Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, DC Gil was a soccer fanatic! He loved western movies and animals. He also kept up to date on national and world events. Gil loved the United States and was very proud to have become an American citizen. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marcy Murray Braga; son, Gilberto C. Braga and wife Rosana, and daughter, Maria Helena Braga and husband Edison Texteira, both of Brazil. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Marcelo Uzeda, Adriana Uzeda and Michele Blanquier and husband Marcelo and three great grandchildren, Gabriel, Alice and Olivia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Gilmar da Silva and Gilda Tilio and his brother, Gilson Braga. A private ceremony was held by the family and interment followed in the SS Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or the American Stroke Association
