George B. Staniscia, 93, Lucernemines died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at The Communities of Indian Haven. He was the son of the late Camillo and Anna (Canzano) Staniscia and was born January 19, 1925 in Blairsville. George was a wonderful craftsman, making rifles and carving stocks. He also enjoyed building models and radio control boats. However, he truly loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, George Michael, Stephen, Nicholas, Josh and his "granddaughter", Ashley. George was a Marine Corps Veteran having served in the Pacific for 39 months and was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad. He is survived by his two sons, George and wife Roseann, Indiana and Jamie and wife Barbara, Export; four grandsons, George Michael (Cynda Liebers), Wake Forest, NC; Stephen and wife Ashley, Parkersburg, WV; Nicholas, Richmond, VA and Josh, Export, PA. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy and her husband Mcallister Felton, New Alexandria and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen in 2002, and brothers, Albert, Lou and Victor. Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City where funeral services will be held at 4 PM at the funeral home. Interment in the St. Louis Cemetery, Lurcernemines.
