Francis "Frank" Greczek, 93, Graceton died April 21, 2013 at Manor Care in McMurray, PA surrounded by loved ones. He was the son of the late John Matthews and Angela (Harkelli) Greczek, natives of Poland. Mr. Greczek was born June 13, 1919 in Coral PA. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, and the Coral Graceton Sportsman Club. Mr. Greczek valiantly served his country during WWII as a rifleman in the United States Army, 44th Division, and 71st Infantry in Northern France. Mr. Greczek spent the majority of his career employed by Center Township. Frank enjoyed playing cards and hunting with his brothers and nephews. He loved the outdoors, baseball and listening to polka music. He is survived by 2 brothers, John of Indiana and Stanley of Coral; 2 sisters, Kay Henry of Latrobe and Agnes Jean Bertig of Graceton. He was loved and adored by his nephew Darrick Bertig, his nieces Jeannine Bertig-McCaffrey and her husband Sean, and Brook Bertig-Coll and her husband Fred and many other nieces and nephews. Mr. Greczek spent much of his time in the later years of his life visiting his grandnieces, Caroline and Emily, and grand-nephew, Joseph. After he moved to McMurray, Frank spent every Saturday at his niece's home in South Pointe, where he enjoyed pizza, while visiting with his sister, Jean, and other family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Thomas Greczek; 2 sisters, Marie Montez Greczek and Ann Wellen; and his most beloved niece Candace Lynn Bertig. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City where serves will be held Thursday at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral Site. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
