Elvja Mae "Red" (Bracken-Smith) Kopsic The Tribune-Democrat TWIN ROCKS - KOPSIC - Elvja Mae "Red" (Bracken-Smith), 79, Twin Rocks, died Oct. 12, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 21, 1932, in Twin Rocks, daughter of the late George and Minerva (Barringer) Smith. Preceded in death by husband, Joseph; and brother and sisters, Georgiauann Solecki, Richard Smith and LaRue Chernesky. Survived by children, Joseph R. (Joan) Kopsic Jr., Twin Rocks; Cindy (Harry) Gearhart, Nanty Glo; Tammy (Jimbo) Prindle, Colver; Sandy (Terry) Swineford, Gettysburg; Barb (Rick) Scappino, Nanty Glo; and Mary (Todd) Rorer, Johnstown; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, June Weyandt, Sidman; Betty (Bill) Troxell, Chambersburg; Grace (Raymond) Lamer, Strongstown; and Larry Smith, Johnstown; and special pet, Tiny. A special thanks to her nurses, Deborah Yoder and Hannah Garver, and neighbors. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday.
