Elizabeth Jane 'Betty' Quinn

Quinn, Elizabeth Jane Betty, a retired Social Security Administrative Executive, passed away Nov. 25, 2017 at the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville, MD. She was born in Revloc on Dec. 1, 1920. Daughter of the late Harry Patrick and Bertha Mae (Rearick) Quinn. She is preceded in death by brothers Harold P. Quinn and James Allen Quinn. Sister Mary Novak. Nephew Mike Novak. She is survived by her siblings, Rita Carmel, Jack Quinn, and Myra Lawerence. Nieces and nephews Lois Williams, Jeffery Carmel, John Carmel, Mary Carmel, Cheryl Buechele, Carole Lewis, Christine Hess, Richard Novak, Brian Quinn, and James Quinn. Betty attended St. Marys Parochial School and graduated from Nanty Glo High School. She was recruited by the Social Security Administration in Johnstown. She then worked at SSA in Baltimore, MD. At the time of her retirement, in 1974, she had become Assistant Bureau Director for Administration in Disability Operations. Family and friends will be received Friday, 10 A.M. until the time of funeral service at 11 A.M, at the Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo. Interment to follow in Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg.
