E. Berniece Zaveson

Edna “Berniece” Zaveson, 86, of Blairsville, PA died March 10, 2024 at St. Andrew’s Village, Indiana, PA.  She was the daughter of the late James and Mae (Snyder) Fridley and was born May 24, 1937 in Hillsdale, PA.

She was a member of the Independent Traditional Holiness Church and was employed as an Assistant Administrator at the Keeper of the Flame Personal Care Home.

She is survived by her son, Louis Paul Zaveson, Blairsville, PA; her daughters, Robin (Tom) Yurky, Irvona, PA and Karen (Tim) Burnheimer, Homer City, PA; her grandson, Jacob (Becky) Burnheimer, Glenshaw, PA; her granddaughter, Julie (Paul) McClintick, Indiana, PA; and her great grandchildren, Rowan Burnheimer, Bridgeport, WV; Valentino Burnheimer, Glenshaw, PA and Colton McClintick, Indiana, PA.  She is also survived by her brother, C. Richard “Dick” Friedley, McPherson, KS; her sister-in-law, Sue Friedley, Marion, OH; her brother-in-law, Sam Zaveson, Lompoc, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lou Zaveson, her sisters, LaRue Fridley, Marjorie Cottrell, Nadine Barrett and her brothers, Walter Friedley and Wayne Friedly.

Per Berniece’s wishes, there will be a private family service at Bowser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Homer City with Rev. Randy Perry, Officiating. Private interment will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
