Dorothy Hradnansky, 87 of Homer City died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Wendell and Anna (Pavlik) Hradnansky and was born August 4, 1925 in Coral. Dorothy was a faithful member of the Greensburg Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and the National Council of Catholic Women. Her membership goes back to 1960 when the Greensburg DCCW was formed. She served in various deanery and diocesan offices and commission chairmen. She was also a member of the Vatican Art Museum, secretary of the Homer Center School Board, Girl Scout Leader and she helped out with the Red Cross Blood Bank. She worked as a secretary for the Homer Center School District and also for Syntron Company. Her service as Greensburg DCCW president and International Affairs Commission Chairman led her to the election as the NCCW Philadelphia Province Director and National International Affairs Commission Chairman. Her favorite projects were "Water Tanks For Africa" and "Bread For The World." She and her sister, Irene, participated in every NCCW Biennial Convention until her recent illness. She is survived by her sister, Irene Hradnansky, which whom she resided. She is also survived by several Godchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents. Friends will be received Saturday from 4-7 and Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. A Blessing Service will be held Monday at 9:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral Site. Interment to follow in the St. Francis Cemetery, Coral.
