Doris J. (Dellafiora) Petruna

Doris J. Petruna, 82, Coral died Monday, October 2, 2017 at her home. She was the daughter of the Jay and Mary Sally (Reato) Dellafiora and was born May 7,1935 in Graceton. Doris was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and a member of the Christian Mothers. Over the years, she was employed by Robertshaw, Kims Shoes, and the Homer-Center School District. She worked for many years and retired from Torrance State Hospital. Doris had a special place in her heart for individuals with developmental disabilities, many of whom she worked with at Torrance State Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, was an avid reader, loved embroidery, and her daily coffee klatch. She was happiest when sharing her home with family and friends who enjoyed her cooking and unique sense of humor. Doris is survived by her son, Joseph P. Petruna, Coral; brothers, Richard Dick and wife Shirley (Mutz) Dellafiora, Ohio; John A. Jack and wife Mary Jane (DZmura) Dellafiora, Homer City; nieces and nephews, Mary Jane and husband Craig Hornbuckle, California; Lisa and husband Michael Wilson, Ohio; Suzanne and husband Edward Rura, Homer City; Deana and husband Mark Chamberlin, Connecticut; Jack and wife Greer (Sealy) Dellafiora, Maryland; James Dellafiora, Philadelphia and Diann and Dean Jenne, Ohio; and many cousins and close friends. She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews, Jack and Scott Hornbuckle; Thomas Wilson; Danielle and Christopher Rura; Adriana and Nicholas Chamberlin; Sophia and Jack Dellafiora; and Leah and Daniel Jenne. Friends will be received Thursday from 4-9 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City. A Blessing Service will be held Friday at 9:30 at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral Site. Interment to follow in the St. Francis Cemetery.
