Donald Adamsky, 76 of Homer City died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late John and Margaret (Skerbolish) Adamsky and was born June 7, 1936, in Tide, PA.
Don was a former coal miner and retired from Homer-Center School District. He was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Nancy Clark Adamsky, one son Michael Adamsky and his wife Debbie of Vintondale, three daughters, Marcy Potts and husband Joe of Homer City; Missy Patterson and husband Del of State College, Mandy Boxler and husband Brad of Homer City. Don had 6 grandchildren, Chad Adamsky, Lane and Nathan Potts, Hannah Patterson and Mya and Olivia Boxler, and one great-grandson, Landon Adamsky.
He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters, Joseph "Patsy" Ashman and wife Ruth of Homer City, Alex Ashman of Indiana, Stella Davis of Coral, Walter "Lefty" Adamsky of Commodore, Jean Adamsky of Homer City, and Helen Mitsko and husband Dave of Indiana and one sister in law, Marie Adamsky of Homer City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Donald Adamsky, one grandson, Brad Adamsky, one sister, Martha Henry, and five brothers, Ed, John, Frank and Chuck Adamsky, and Paul Ashman.
The family would also like to thank Debbie and Michael Stalteri as well as VNA Family Hospice for their loving comfort and support in our families' difficult loss. Don will be greatly missed as a loyal, humble, and hardworking father and husband.
Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. R.A. Wallace, officiating. Interment to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
