Charles "Charlie" Showman, 73, Homer City died October13, 2014 at his residence. He was the son of the late Ken and Mabel (Meyers) Showman and was born July 25, 1941. Charlie was a retired Vietnam Veteran where he was a helicopter gunner. He was a retired IUP police officer and also worked for the Clymer and Homer City Police Departments part time. He was also a hairdresser and truck driver and most recently was employed at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home where he made removals and was a greeter. Charlie loved building train sets, going to the casinos, traveling on cruises, playing the piano and he loved to sing. He also loved hunting and playing Wii games. Mr. Showman is survived by his wife Lois (Shank) Showman whom he married in 1990; his daughter Cindy Hagans of Central City, PA; son, Scott Showman; granddaughter, Alexis Hagans and his sister Sharon Meyers of Bakersville, PA. He is also survived by his brother-in-aw Wayne (Delores) Shank of Michigan; his niece and nephew, Missy Meyers of Johnstown and Brian Meyers of Upland, Indiana; step-children, Tina (Jess) Heiple of Listie, PA, Tesa (Mike) Wincko of Pittsburgh and Ryan (Amy) Custer of Lambertsville, PA. He is also survived by step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many friends and his beloved dog, Cocoa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ken Showman and his stepson, Dale Custer. Friends will be received, Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City where services will be held Thursday at 11AM at the funeral Home. Interment to follow in the Brotherton Cemetery, Somerset County In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Indiana County Humane Society and Any Veteran organization of your choice.
