Betty Lou (Shaffer) McGarry

Betty Lou (Shaffer) McGarry passed away into the presence of her LORD on September 28, 2013 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born June 1, 1930 in Josephine, PA to Beulah (Webber) and George Sanford Shaffer. Betty was a homemaker, loving wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She also worked at King Leather and McCroys store in Indiana. She loved people and always welcomed everyone to her home, where everyone always ended up in her kitchen. She showed her love through food and never let anyone leave her home hungry. She was a member of the former Pilgrim Holiness Church, Josephine, PA She is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Greene and husband Ted of Belsano; Diane O'Donnell and son-in-law, Kenneth Bruner of Blairsville and Rebekah Bruner of Coral. She is also survived by grandchildren, Melanie and husband David Reeger, Tom and wife Erin Bruner and Ted Greene Jr. and wife Christie; great grandchildren, Lauren, Allison and Luke Thomas Bruner and Alexandria, Stone, Mitchell and Jacob Greene and Skylar Rose and Shelby Lynn Brink; two brothers, Donald and Alton Shaffer and three sister - in-laws; Betty and Doris Shaffer and Lillian Shaffer Wallace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McGarry, one daughter, Roberta Brink; son-in-law, Donald Brink and two brothers, Clyde and Kenneth Shaffer and one sister in law Ruth Shaffer. Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City where services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev.
