Betty Ruth (Varner) Little

Betty Ruth Little, 83, Milton, Kentucky formerly of Homer City died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in Bedford, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Bessie (Ashbaugh) Varner and was born July 11, 1929 in Blacklick, PA. Betty served as Past Commander of Disabled American Vets, Chapter 20, Ladies Auxiliary, Indiana, PA and was retired from ARIN Intermediate Unit. She is survived by two daughters - Mary I. Schwartzmiller and husband Greg of Bedford, Kentucky and Brenda K. Howat and husband Karl of West Chester, Ohio. Four grandchildren - Jason Schwartzmiller and wife Merry, Victor Schwartzmiller and wife Heather, Amanda and husband Dr. Doug Brown and Ryan Howat; and one great granddaughter - Kelsi Schwartzmiller. Betty is also survived by three sisters - Shirley Mardis of Indiana, PA, Charlotte Stitzer of Greensburg and Rebecca Pardee of Indiana. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clair Eugene Little in 2002, one brother - Wilbert Varner and three sisters - Dorothy King, Ilene Poole and Maxine Varner. Friends will be received Saturday from 2-4 and 6- PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City where services will be held at 2PM Sunday with Rev. Joseph Stains, officiating. Interment to follow in the Coral Luther Cemetery, Coral.
