Barbara Jean (Rhine) Kotelnicki

November 4, 1970 — April 15, 2018

Kotelnicki Barbara Jean (Rhine), 47, Ebensburg, passed away April 15, 2018, after a 2 year courageous battle with inflammatory breast cancer. She was the daughter of Harvey and Jean (Miller) Rhine, Sr. She is preceded in death by grandparents Wilbur Rhine and Rembrandt and Patricia Miller. Barb is survived by her husband Jim Kotelnicki; children Jordan and Elisabeth Kotelnicki; parents Harvey and Jean; brothers Harvey (Heather) Rhine, Jr. and Robert (Lynn) Rhine; sister Shari (Scott) Adams; grandmother Alma Rhine; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Valued by many friends, especially Lynn Popovich. Member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Nanty Glo. Worked as a Guidance Counselor through IU8 at many schools in Cambria and Blair Counties. Barb will be fondly remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, daughter-in-law, aunt, Godmother and friend. She truly treasured her family and the life God gave her. She was full of faith and love which fueled her fight against the evil of cancer. Through this storm, Barb maintained her steadfast faith in the Lord and joyful spirit; she was always fun-loving, kind, generous and caring. Barb was very appreciative of all those who cared for, ministered to, and supported her and her family, fondly referring to them as her angels. Her family especially wants to thank her small community, with their large, generous heart, which was so endearing to Barb. She was a courageous woman with a strong moral compass which was well balanced with compassion and empathy. Barbs presence and spirit will be immensely missed. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6. Family and friends will be received at the Bowser Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 P.M.; where Liturgical Wake Service will be held. Funeral Mass will be Friday 10 A.M. at St. Marys Catholic Church, Fr. Leonard Voytek, the Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a fund established for Barbs children under James Kotelnicki at PennCrest Bank.
