Audrey Jean Shimko

Audrey Jean (Cunningham) Shimko, 83, Lucernemines died February 15, 2019 at Scenery Hill Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Elder Leroy and Audrey (Lydick) Cunningham and was born February 25, 1935 in Indiana County. Audrey was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and enjoyed bowling, camping and crocheting. She was a district manager for Avon and a hairdresser. Audrey was a owner/operator along with her husband of Shimkos Restaurant in Homer City from 1984-1993. She is survived by three children, Kathleen Jean Zinza, Burnside, PA; John Shimko, Indiana and Ronald Michael Shimko, Lucernemines; four grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Justin and Matthew. Audrey is also survived by five great grandchildren, Isabella, Cenzo, Ava, Brady and Caylie and three brothers, Leroy Cunningham, Virginia; Neal Cunningham, Florida and William Cunningham, Pittsburgh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Shimko, her son-in-law, David Zinza and her sister, Nancy Adair. A Blessing Service will be held Monday at 9:30 AM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City followed by a Funeral Mass At 10 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Lucernemines Site. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
