Anita Zack George, 88, Homer City went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
She was the daughter of the late David Robert and Ida Matilda (Blose) Kanouff and was born April 5, 1931 in Creekside, Pennsylvania.
Anita was a very religious person and a member of Luciusboro Wesleyan Methodist church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She loved her family and enjoyed puzzles and reading.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce and her husband Felix Szalkowski, her son, Rodney Zack and his wife Connie, both of Homer City; four grandchildren, Brian Szalkowski, Karen and her husband David Bates, Keith Zack, and Jennifer Zack and her husband Brian Link; and seven grandchildren, Jarhed, Austin, Brionna and Alex Szalkowski, Alora Young, and Molly and Cordelia Zack. She is also survived by her siblings, David S. Kanouff and wife Jane, Homer City; Glenna and husband James Ward, Laurel, Indiana; Portia Goldberg, Blairsville and Kathy Kanouff, South Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Richard Floyd Zack in 1985 and Raymond William George in 2004. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Delores Livington and her infant brother, Kerry.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City and Monday from 10 AM until time of funeral service at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
