Alton Roy Kunkle Sr., 75, Homer City died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Glenn and Violet (Taylor) Kunkle and was born January 18, 1938 in Altman. Mr. Kunkle was a member of the Tide Sportsman's Club, the Coral and Graceton Sportsman's Club and the Club Savoy. Alton was also a member of the American Legion Post #493, Homer City and a Navy Veteran having served in the Korean War. After retiring from Season-All, he was self employed as a carpenter. Mr. Kunkle is survived by his wife - the former Mary Delosh; 3 children - Alton Kunkle Jr. of Homer City; Kim and husband Chris Troup of Lucernemines and Kirk Kunkle of Homer City; and three grandchildren - Kerrstin and Kayla Troup and Nathan Adamson. He is also survived by three sisters - Arbutus and husband Joe Sharp of Indianapolis, IN; Gladys and husband Bob Ray of Ohio and Brenda and husband Leroy Fenton of Pittsburgh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson - Troy Kunkle and Brother Ronald Kunkle. Friends will be received Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City where funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. R.A. Wallace, officiating. Interment to follow in the Oakland Cemetery. Graveside military services will be conducted by the Homer City American Legion Post #493.
